When I first came to Penn State I was really looking for a firm foundation to build on. I found this foundation through an organization named BLUEprint. BLUEprint is a multicultural peer mentorship program for first-year and change of campus students. New students are paired up with a mentor and relationships are built through trust and friendship. Being a part of this organization was one of the highlights of my year. I met so many amazing people that I can trust to be there for me whenever I need them. Next year I am going to be a mentor to a new student, and hopefully I will be able to pass on the same experience I had to them.
In addition to BLUEprint, I was really involved in Lions Guard. Lions Guard is a drill and ceremonies club ran through ROTC. In this club we learned and practiced correct drill and ceremony techniques. We also provided different events with color guards. Next year I plan on becoming a certified member and then work on staff for the club.
Other organizations I plan on being a part of next year include: Global Health Brigade, Premedical Society, and other community service oriented clubs.
